Termite Inspections Brisbane

Pre-Purchase Termite Inspections in Brisbane

BBuying a home is a significant investment. A pre-purchase termite inspection is a small investment for huge return—peace of mind that the property you’re about to move into is termite-free. And if it’s not, then you have the information to do something about it before it becomes an insurmountable problem.

Statistics show that one in three Brisbane homes will be affected by termites. Timber comprises a large percentage of the structural material, making it an ideal haven for destructive termites. Termites are on the lookout for timber as their food source and they are smart enough to remain undetectable for years while chewing their way through roof beams, internal walls, and floorboards of homes.

Our experienced pest control inspectors have a wealth of knowledge and up-to-date tools and treatments to eradicate and control termites, to find termite activity and understand the potential impact now and in the future.

They’re also generous with their knowledge and will educate you on the access points and risks of termites in your home so that you can minimise future risks.

A pre-purchase inspection provides:

  • A detailed report that has been carried out in accordance to Australian Standard Timber Pest Inspections 4349.3 2010
  • General advice on how you can prevent any future termite infestation
  • Risk assessment of your area
  • A comprehensive inspection of your property, both internally and externally
  • A no-obligation, free quote for a preventive or remedial termite treatments

Termite facts – did you know?

  • Termites create tunnels about 20 centimetres under the soil in search of food. These tunnels are situated between their nests and food sources.
  • A termite nest could be on your neighbouring property and still cause destruction to your home
  • By the time you see evidence of termites, they’ve already caused significant damage.
  • If your house is built on a concrete slab, it is still susceptible to termite attacks. Termites make their way through cracks and under slabs. You may be at greater risk as subfloor inspections are not possible.
  • Damage caused by termites is not covered in your home insurance.

Termite FAQ’s

Let us solve your pest problem before it wreaks havoc on your property. To use anyone would be a crime!

Termites are subterranean and highly intelligent at staying invisible. By the time you see their activity, they have already done significant damage to your home. If you have trees nearby, then you may have termites there as well.

Prevention is better than cure. If your neighbour has had a termite problem, or you suspect you are in a termite-prone area, it is important to do a pest inspection.

Recent studies show that more than one in three houses will suffer termite damage at some point. In many cases, termite damage will occur in concealed areas behind plaster in your walls and may be undetectable to the naked eye which is why it’s important to call in our professional and accredited team. We can also bring other pest control issues to your attention at the time of inspection.

Termites only need a gap of 1.6mm in a concrete slab, around water or waste pipes through the slab to enter your home and attack structural timbers. Also, houses on a concrete slab are harder to treat for termites as internal drilling may be required through the slab.

I had an ant problem in my car and had tried everything I could do get rid of them - bug spray, bug bomb, getting my car professionally cleaned. Nothing worked, until Peter took a look and set some baits. Took about a week and I have not seen an ant since! Thank you very much.
